2012 Founders’ Day Dinner

The Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, Washington, D.C. Area (PKTDC) Alumni Association invites you to a gathering of friends and fellow alumni for a special Founders’ Day Dinner at Standard Restaurant in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm where we will be toasting the 53rd Anniversary of the historic merger of Phi Kappa and Theta Kappa Phi.

The local collegiate chapter from George Mason University will also be holding their initiation the same evening at 8:00 pm. Any brothers that attend the dinner are welcome to accompany us and and attend the initiation as well.

3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, Washington, D.C. Area (PKTDC) Alumni Association extends to you an invitation to attend the Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament to be held on Sunday, May 20th, 2012 starting at 1:00 PM at The Courses at Andrews Air Force Base located at 4442 West Perimeter Road, Andrews AFB, MD 20762.

This event will benefit the United Service Organizations (USO) in memory of our brother, Thomas Brown, 1^st Lt. U.S. Army, who lost his life in the line of duty. Proceeds will be donated to the USO to benefit those who have served and are currently serving our country.

The cost of tickets for the event will be $95 per person and will include the round of golf (tee times begin at 2:00 pm) and an Italian buffet style dinner after the tournament during which the winners will be announced and a raffle will be held.

We invite you to come together with fellow brothers and get to know your local Phi Kappa Theta Alumni Association. We strive to bring together alumni from any chapter that may be living in, working in, or otherwise frequenting the area. We wish to provide a venue for social-networking and philanthropic activities for alumni of the fraternity from years past, present, and future. We hope to reconnect old friends, create new fraternal bonds, and renew the spirit of brotherhood.

Alumni Reception

The Phi Kappa Theta Foundation will be hosting an Alumni Reception in Washington, D.C. on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, located at 400 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. The Guest of Honor will be Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, and Brother of Phi Kappa Theta. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided and a cash bar will be available. The requested attire for this event is business attire. Registration will be open until February 25, 2012 and costs $25. Guests are welcome to attend. Click Here to Register.

The purpose of this reception is to develop thriving Phi Kappa Theta communities in metropolitan areas where there are concentrations of of Phi Kap alumni. It is our hope that this will allow alumni to reconnect with one another and to form new friendships. We also hope to encourage a deeper connection with and loyalty to the Phi Kappa Theta family as a national organization, beyond the boundaries of individual chapters.

PKTDC Picnic

The Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, Washington, D.C. Metro Area (PKTDC) Alumni Association invites you to a gathering of friends, family, and fellow alumni for a picnic at the Lee-Fendall House in Alexandria, Virginia on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This is a family event, so feel free to bring significant others, spouses, and kids.

Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company will be catering pulled pork, beef brisket, slaw, cucumber salad, and macaroni & cheese. Beer and wine will also be available. In addition to the food and beverages, there will be games and other activities for all ages.

There are two types of tickets available for this event: $40 per person for both food and alcoholic beverages and $20 per person for food only. All proceeds will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.

Join us to relax, enjoy the food and beverages, and meet fellow Phi Kaps in the area – we look forward to seeing you there!

Washington Nationals vs. Houston Astros Game

The Washington Nationals vs. Houston Astros game will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. The game starts at 7:05 PM and we plan to meet around 5:00 PM at “Das Bullpen” prior to the game for food and refreshments. “Das Bullpen” is located outside the park directly across from the Navy Yard Metro Station. All local PhiKaps, significant others, children, and friends are welcome to join and are encouraged to attend.

Tickets may be purchased the day of the game or reserved ahead of time by emailing tickets@pktdc.org.

PKTDC Site Update

Welcome to the new and improved pktdc.org, now powered by WordPress and hosted by BlueHost. This new site infrastructure should allow for quicker updates, more features, and greater interactivity with visitors. The design / layout is still a work in progress, so you may notice a few minor changes here and there for a few days until everything gets smoothed out. We have also changed hosts once again, so hopefully all goes well this time so we can stay put for the years to come. Thanks for your patience through this process, and stay tuned for future updates.
